Downloading drivers with Easy Driver Pro has never been easier. Downloaded drivers are automatically saved in your driver download directory which may be changed on the Settings tab. All downloaded drivers are accessible on the Downloads tab.
PC Easy Driver Pro always recommends viewing the ReadMe before installing any driver for specific installation instructions or known issues. Readme can usually be found in the compressed driver installation file or driver installation directory.
NOTE: Installing an alternative driver for a device may result in the device still showing as out of date on a subsequent scan.

Step 1 - Selecting drivers for backup
Easy Driver Pro searches for all drivers installed on your system and displays a list of drivers sorted by category.
To view details about any of the drivers, click on the driver's name. Information about the selected driver will be displayed on the bottom of the screen.
1. Check the box next to any driver you wish to include in your backup. If you wish to select all the drivers at once use the "Check All" link. The more drivers you include in the backup the longer the backup process will take and the more disk space it will require.
2. Once you have selected all the drivers you want to backup click Next.
Step 2 - Selecting a name, location and format for your backup
1. Enter a name for your backup file
2. Select a location where you would like the backup file stored. Use the browse button for help selecting a location. IMPORTANT! Do not save the backup files in the same partition where Microsoft Windows is installed. All data in that partition will be lost during the Windows installation process.
3. The default format saves your backup drivers as files. Click on the down arrow if you wish to change the backup format to a ZIP file. We recommend using the zip file format if you are backing up a large number of drivers at one time. For more information on which format to choose see Backup Type (below).
4. Click "Create Backup."
Step 3 - Backup in progress
It could take several minutes for the backup to be created depending on the number of drivers selected.
The status bar shows the progress of the backup. A timer on the right of the screen tells you how long the backup has been running and how many files have been copied.
To stop the backup process at any time click "Cancel."
Backup complete
Once the backup is complete a window will pop-up confirming the name, location and format of the backup.
Backup Type
Default - Backs up the drivers to a specified folder
Zip - Backs up the drivers to a ZIP compressed file
Before installing the new driver, Easy Driver Pro prompts you to create a system restore point. We recommend always creating a system restore point before making any major changes to your comuter. Select "Yes" to create a system restore point or select "No" to close this window and proceed with installing the new drivers.
Most drivers have an installation program which starts automatically and you follow the manufacturers prompts to install the new driver. The installation can take several minutes depending on the type of driver being installed. Some devices require you to restart your computer after a new driver is installed. Certain drivers to not have an installation program and may need to be manually installed.

The scan can take from a few seconds to a few minutes depending on the performance of your system, the number of files selected and how long it has been since you last scanned and removed privacy risks from these areas.
Privacy Scan Results
After running a scan the results are displayed in the Scan Results screen. Next to each category in the scan results you will see the number of files found, the amount of disk space they occupy and an option for more information.
You can remove any or all risk items that are displayed in the list. Before you begin to remove items, we recommend that you review them and only select those items you want to delete. By default all risk items are selected. Deselect any items or categories you wish to keep before hitting the Delete Selected button.
More Info - click here if you would like more detailed information about the individual files or items. Results will be displayed in the Details Window. Click on the plus sign to further expand any group for information on individual files.

Remember excluded items from future scans - if you notice an item on the list which you know you do not want included in future scans for example cookies containing log-in credentials which you use automatically when visiting a trusted site, simply deselect the item or items and check this box. These items will be remembered by Easy Speed PC and will be excluded from future scans. You can modify the list of excluded files by going to the Settings menu and clicking on exclusion lists.
Select the files you wish to delete. Click Save and Close to return to the Scan Results Window.

Registry backup and restore
Easy Speed PC makes it very safe and easy to clean and optimize your registry. However, if you ever find that the removal of any registry items has caused certain software programs to stop running correctly or if your computer is taking an excessively long time to boot you can always revert your computer back to the last known good configuration using the backup and restore features.
From the registry menu click "Backup and restore your registry".
Options on the backup menu include:
Excluding Registry Keys - We recommend extreme caution when excluding registry paths. If invalid registry keys are created under the path which you excluded then Easy Speed PC will not be able to track those registries and therefore will not be able to fully clean and optimize your registry.
Excluding Files - There may be certain files which you know you do not want to delete and there would rather not have included in future scans for example cookies containing log-in credentials which you use automatically when visiting a trusted site. Use the Exclusion List to select any files you do not wish included in the future. If you've already excluded certain files during a privacy scan those files will be displayed and you will be able to add to that list or remove any files you no longer wish to exclude.
